Network Accounts for Students
This page contains information about some of the different types of computer accounts that you may need as part of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), as well as how to apply for and/or activate them:

Accounts for Students

If you are a UNT Student, you already have a Novell account. It's called a UNT Student Storage (UNTSS) account. Your UNTSS account will be activated the first time you login to it. With a UNTSS account, you can login on any General Access Computer Lab computer. A UNT Student Storage (UNTSS) account has several benefits: To access your UNTSS account via the Web, go to http://untss.unt.edu and log in using your EUID and the same password you use for EagleMail.

Forget Your Password?

If you can't remember your UNTSS account password, or want to change it, you can reset your password by going to UNT's Account Management System and selecting the Reset Password function. Please note that this will also reset your EagleMail password.

Accounts for CAS Student Employees

If you are a UNT student employed by one of the departments or groups within the College of Arts and Sciences (this includes TAs and TFs), you will use your UNTSS account (see above) to login on the Arts and Sciences-managed computer in your office or work area. However, you will also need a Windows Workstation account to login on your office computer. Windows Workstation accounts are provided by Arts and Sciences Computing Support Services. Simply come to General Academics Building (GAB) 313 to request your Windows Workstation account. Please be sure you know your EUID and bring your UNT ID card.

GroupWise Email for CAS Student Employees

If you are a student employee (see above) and your employing department requires you to use GroupWise as part of your job duties, you will need a GroupWise account. Your supervisor (a full-time faculty or staff member) must email postmaster@mail.cas.unt.edu and request a GroupWise account be created for you. In this email, your supervisor must provide the following information: It is best that your supervisor send this email a day or two prior to you picking up your Windows Workstation account, so that your GroupWise account will be ready for you when you pick up your Windows Workstation account.
