Part Time Computer Technician I
Job Description
- This is entry-level technical support and customer service work assisting in the operation and maintenance of a computing system environment.
- Hours
- Technical support works a flexible 15 to 30 weekday hours from 8am to 5pm.
- Work continues between semesters.
- Volunteers may work additional nights and weekends during outages or other abnormal conditions.
- Examples of Work
- Responds to faculty/staff and student employee user requests for assistance with system, assessing general nature of problem and providing support or referring requester to appropriate staff as needed.
- Provides technical maintenance for systems, applications, and communications hardware and software.
- Troubleshoots complex system hardware and software problems and assists individual users regarding system or software problems.

Minimum Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of principles of computing and communications networks
- Manual dexterity necessary to operate computer keyboard and to install computer hardware.
- Physical strength to move and setup multiple computer workstations.
- Good written and oral communications skills.

- Ability to assimilate, retain, and utilize technical and applications-oriented information
- Ability to work with limited independence and initiative.
